Want to try stuff out? We have created a demo account on this site where you can play with a simple cms to get an idea of what is possible at an elementary level. You will be able to do the following:

  • add/edit pages, news items and images.
  • see a really simple worfklow scenario in action.

Your demo username is demo and the password is demopass

Hints

Using the add action, try first adding a page. Give it a title, a description and using the rich editor, add some text. Try using a few predefined styles.

Once you're done with the page, try editing it. There are two ways to do so. You can click on the edit action to go to the full edit form, or play with the AJAX editor. Simply clicking on the title, for instance, while you are viewing it, will give you editing capabilities.

Try adding a news item, maybe inside a folder.

It's time to try out workflow. Notice that at first, items you add appear red in the navigation menu. This is because in the demo scenario content is initially created in the private state. If you logout you'll notice that private content is not accessible by you (now an anonymous user) or in fact by any other user except admins. If you want to make it accessible log-in again, navigate to the content you added, and on the action bar locate state.

Click submit for publication from the drop-down menu. Now the content's state has become pending for review. This means that your item can now be seen by other logged-in members but not anonymous visitors and will not yet be catalogued for searching. In addition, you are no longer permitted to edit the item.

Next time one of our reviewers will visit the site, she will see your newly submitted item and publish it. Thus, your content will be made public for all, and you will be able to find it using the live search facility. If it happens that you submit news items for publication, once published they will automatically appear in the special news area on the left column.
